Woman, six children escape unharmed from Manlius house fire

Manlius, NY -- A town of Manlius woman and six children escaped unharmed this morning after a chimney fire spread at their Old Kirkville Road home, Manlius police said. Minoa, Bridgeport, East Syracuse and Kirkville firefighters responded to the fire, which was called into Onondaga County E-911 about 3:30 a.m. No one was hurt fighting the blaze, Manlius police Sgt.... Oswego County woman admits guilt in theft of insurance payments

Syracuse, NY - An Oswego County woman pleaded guilty in Onondaga County Court today to charges she stole customers’ policy payments at the insurance company where she worked. Fabius-Pompey voters approve bus proposition

Fabius-Pompey school district residents approved a bus proposition in voting Tuesday. The vote was 42 in favor and 24 against. East Syracuse: Two incumbent trustees in East Syracuse won re-election to their seats Tuesday. Incumbent trustee James E. Carr Jr. and trustee/deputy mayor Barbara Falcone Quonce were opposed by Howard Evans and Robert Murphy. Carr received 232 votes and Quonce received 201. In Minoa, Eric Christensen won election to the two-year village trustee seat by receiving 286 votes. That seat was left open when trustee Ed Theobald was elected supervisor in the town of Manlius.
